Fajr Int’l Film Festival latest news

The 2017 edition of Iran’s Fajr Int’l Film Festival will screen 30 Iranian movies in addition to participating international cinematic products, an offcial with the festival announced.

According to Jafar Sanei Moghaddam, the scheduling manager of the festival, Iranian films that have screened in the 35th Fajr Film Festival or other international events will be excluded from the competition.

Moghaddam added that a new non-competitive section titled ‘Documentaries Under the Microscope’ will be featured in this year’s edition titled ‘Documentaries Under the Microscope’.

Established in 1982, Fajr International Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th International Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
